Who we are

Christ Church Headington started in 2024 as a church plant from St. Ebbe’s Church in central Headington, together with people from a range of other church backgrounds too. We are…

A Christian Church

We worship the God who is revealed in the Bible as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God our Father loved the world so much that he sent his Son to live, die and rise as our Saviour and to pour out on us the gift of new life by his Spirit living within us.

An Evangelical and Reformed Church

We rejoice in the good news that God rescues people from sin by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. The final authority by which we seek to live is the written word of God alone. A summary of evangelical beliefs can be found here.

A Presbyterian Church

We’re part of the International Presbyterian Church. Our official doctrinal basis is the Westminster Confession of Faith. You don’t have to accept everything written in these standards to be part of Christ Church Headington. But if you want to know what will be taught and how our church is run, that’s the place to look.

Our team

We believe that the whole church family is our team!

All of us are called to love and serve one another as brothers and sisters in Jesus. As a Presbyterian Church, we are led by a team of elders – currently that’s our minister, Paul Bolton, and the Church Planting Committee of the IPC. Over the coming year we hope to appoint more elders from our own congregation. In the meantime, Paul is assisted by a small working party.
